Mission Statement:
S.E.V.A. is a service organization dedicated to helping improve the local community and raising awareness of Sikhs and their beliefs. This is to be done through frequent involvement in activities for the betterment of the local community and the hosting of service and awareness events. S.E.V.A. is guided by the principles of selfless-service, honesty, discipline and meditation.

About SEVA:
SEVA will serve human needs through efforts including food service, labor, raw material and money donations. SEVA will also make efforts to bring cultural awareness and community service through beautification, agriculture, community outreach events and any other service activities.

SEVA originated from Española NM, but plans to expand. SEVA aims to create support for WorldWide volunteers to be able to serve in their local areas. The 'Volunteer Cookbook' (in development) will provide assistance for this. Visit the Volunteer Center.

How SEVA started:
A small group of friends felt the need to reach out to their local community, got together and started brain-storming. This grew to be a consistant and motivated effort. SEVA members look forward to continue learning and expanding to become leaders of selfless-service.
